It follows the Permanence and progress regulation for students of the bachelor’s and master’s degrees of the University of Vigo.
- Full time student –ordinary enrolment-: among 48 and 60 credits per academic year, except for students who have less than 48 credits left to finish their studies. They will have the number of enrolled credits up to 75 with taken and not passed subjects or with studies simultaneity.
- Part time student – this status must be expressly requested to the centre’s management board when performing the first enrolment in the University of Vigo and renewed every new enrolment-: between 24 and 48 credits each academic year, but for students with less than 24 credits left to finish their studies. They will have the number of enrolled credits up to 54 with taken and not passed subjects or with studies simultaneity. Handicapped students can request a reduced permanence regime which is translated in an enrolment of 6 to 24 credits per academic year.
The person in charge of a degree can authorise the enrolment in more credits than those established by the permanence regulation to students who certify having high capacities through a report of the UVigo Psych-pedagogical unit.
Each master’s degree student, to continue their studies in the same degree in the University of Vigo, should:
- If it is the first time on the first year, pass at least 18 credits if they are in full time regime or 6 if they are in part time mode, except for those who have less credits left to completely finish the first course.
- If it is a continuing of studying, obtain every two years of permanence at least 60 credits in full time regime and 12 in part time regime. When accounting these credits, those obtained by recognition will not be taken into account.
Each student can enrol during their permanence on the degree on twice the amount of necessary credits to graduate. When accounting the credits left, those obtained by recognition will be multiplied by two and deducted. Finishing these credits will prevent continuing in this degree in the University of Vigo
The credits obtained by permanence will not count for permanence effects.
Extraordinarily, the chancellor can allow the studies continuation, under request of the affected student, as long as there are force majeure causes correctly certified affecting their academic performance.
